Judges 5:5-7

The Voice

⁵The mountains flowed like water before the Eternal, the God of Sinai;
they melted into a flood before the Eternal One, the True God of Israel.

⁶In the days of Shamgar, the son of Anath,
    and in the days of Jael, the main roads were empty of caravans,
    and the travelers kept to back roads.
⁷But those from rural areas stayed away,
    the destitute in Israel kept far off,^[a]
Until I, Deborah, arose
    to be a mother to Israel.
